Manteo High School seniors Paul Charron and Bree Tillett were recognized at the December 8 Board of Education meeting for their perfect math scores on the SAT II subject area test. From left, MHS Principal John Luciano, Tillett, Charron, Board member Bea Basnight, and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Sue Burgess. Luciano introduced the students to the Board, noting that the SAT II subject tests are often required for admission by the nation's top universities, and taken in addition to the regular SAT that includes math, writing, and critical reading. Charron and Tillett are the only Dare County seniors to achieve perfect scores in the math SAT II.
