Manteo High School senior Timmy Alder's photography portfolio won a Silver Key award in the Scholastic Art and Writing Contest for the Northeastern NC region. Operated by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards recognize student achievement in the visual arts and creative writing. Alder is in Yvonne Miakisz' AP Art class. The title of this photo that Alder included in his portfolio is "Grass Horizon." The 2010 exhibition will run from January 25 through February 19 in the Barton Art Galleries located in Case Art Building.
